PRESS RELEASE -A Tribute to my Roots

PRADA GALLERY has announced the opening of its new exhibit, A Tribute to My Roots, a collective exhibit of 18 internationally known and award-winning Panamanian artists. Among the paintings on exhibit are works by Guillermo Trujillo born in 1927, called "El Maestro", the dean of Panamanian painters, whose work is also currently on exhibition at the Museum of the Americas of the Organization of American States.
Sinclair, Solis, Calvit, and Vasquez are also represented and stand out as leading Panamanian contemporary artists In addition, a number of skillful, disciplined and talented emerging young artists, such as Navarro, Matos, Ceville, Fallenbaum and Bellido among others, are showing their work.
"My goal is to provide a window for Latin American artists, where they can exhibit their art work beyond their own countries, here in Washington DC." said Jilma Prada director and owner of Prada Gallery. "This is the first of many exhibitions that Prada Gallery will have of Latin American art from Mexico through Argentina."
A former Panamanian diplomat and former foreign correspondent for a large Panamanian newspaper Prada has studied with renowned Panamanian professor Ricaurte Martinez, and with Chilean artist Raimundo Rubio in Washington, DC. She formally opened her art gallery on October 27 th , 2005, to promote Latin American art in the Washington metropolitan region. The gallery is located in the heart of Georgetown at 1030 Wisconsin Avenue.
Prada Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 6 pm.
